We’ve just opened our guesthouse, MAISON RIKA, across the street from the Rika boutique. Located in the ‘9 streets’ area of Amsterdam, you can enjoy beautiful views over the canals and the best shopping and dining the centre has to offer.

MAISON RIKA, a petite guesthouse with a twist, has set foot in a former art gallery outlooking Amsterdam’s historical canals.

The traditional townhouse is three storey-high; the ground floor serves a versatile exhibition and boutique space, where pop-up events are organized throughout the year. The third and second floors each have a single, fully furnished bedroom, that both overlook the Herengracht canal. Furnished and decorated by Ulrika Lundren, Rika label founder and a former interior designer, each room is warm, classically elegant yet modern, and with a vintage touch.

The ancient wooden floors are painted black with a sitting area by the large windows. Each room has a comfortable Queen size bed, and features unique art pieces by Sang Ming and John Derian on its walls. The bathrooms in black tiles and matching handmade black copper wash basins.

The multifaceted lobby offers lifestyles pieces Ulrika has collected, by her favorite designers, artists and markets round the worlds – this includes John Derian glass art, Maison Michel hats, scented candles, scrap books and cards from Rifle Paper – and let’s not forget a selection of limited edition Rika travel goods.

Its gallery section also gives up and coming street artists the opportunity of showing their work on the windows.
As a free of charge service, Rika is happy to recommend and book restaurant reservations, and arrange transport – our aim is for visitors to enjoy the genuine, off-the-tracks Amsterdam.

Room rate is € 200 per night, with free WiFi. Breakfast not included, but several little cafes can be found 2-5 min walk around the Maison area.
